Pu Luong, in the local language, stands for "the highest mountain peak". Pu Luong Nature Reserve belongs to both Ba Thuoc and Quan Hoa districts, just about 130 kilometers far from Thanh Hoa City to the northwest.
With an area of more than 17.600 hectares together with a diverse system of flora and fauna, Pu Luong Thanh Hoa impresses tourists with the natural beauty of its primary forests, terraces of rice and the peaceful life of the local ethnic minorities. It is a new attractive destination for any tourists loving nature and wishing to discover new lands in their journey.
You are given 2 options to choose from. Depending on your taste, you can either go to Kho Mường village or Hieu village. Both will be culturally rich experiences. With Pu Luong cultural one-day tours, you will get to try local food, have a chat with local people and see Vietnam through their eyes.
Pu Luong Trekking Tours in 3 Days 2 nights
Day 1: Hanoi – Pu Luong walking and rafting (L/D)
Morning: 8.00 pick up at your hotel in Hanoi then depart for a 4-hour drive to Pu Luong Nature Reserve via the breathtaking mountain pass of northern Vietnam which gives you a panoramic view of the rice field, villages and valley. You arrive at Pu Luong Retreat around noon and enjoy the delicious lunch served with traditional Vietnamese food. After lunch, make your own way to explore the beauty of the surroundings, with its captivating panoramic views over the rice terrace field and villages.
Afternoon: Transfer by car to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you start your walk through the field for search of stunning bamboo water wheels. Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from river to handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes.
Continue the foot-path to a local fisherman’s house where you have a short rest for brief preparation of a rafting adventure with Mr. Dinh and his team. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, in between learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts.
Arriving at scenic Tan Lap bridge, disembark and be transferred to Kho Muong Village, take walk down about 800 meters to the local homestay, check in and enjoy the homemade dinner served with traditional local food. You will feel the warmth and hospitality of locals here. Overnight in homestay.

Day 2: Cave exploration - Uoi Village - Lan Village – Pu Luong Retreat (B/L/D)
After breakfast at homestay, start a short walk into the beautiful valley of Kho Muong Village to a pristine wild nature cave where you could see sparkling stalactites when the light shines on as thousands of stars shining in the night sky.
Walk back to homestay then check it out for another day of the trek through mountain ranges dotted by charming hidden villages. Your eyes will keep looking and the camera never stops when you reach to Uoi and Lan Villages which are home to Thai people.
Trek through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Savor the ever-changing scenery as you trek to a beautiful spot to enjoy a simple picnic lunch.
After enjoying delicious food, you have free time to explore the refreshing water of the nearby river and get close to village life and interact with locals living in the hills. A glimpse at daily life, walk around working farmland and rice fields, and learn about making rice wine and weaving colorful textiles.
In the afternoon, moving to our pick-up car and be transferred to the Pu Luong Retreat. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Pu Luong trekking – Hanoi (B/L)
Morning: Wake up in the morning with the sound of birds and beautiful running creek stream, relaxing water sounds through forest. Enjoy your breakfast before start to descend into the magnificent valley facing the Retreat where you walk around tumbling rice terraces.
You might stop at village; visit a local family to know more about their life and local culture before continuing to the base of the valley where the car waiting to transfer you back to Retreat. Check out your bungalow then having lunch before get back to Hanoi. Arrival in Hanoi in the late afternoon. End of services.
