2- Visiting Cam Luong Fish Stream - The Stream of “Holy Fish”
The Cam Luong stream is located at the foot of the Truong Sinh (Immortality) Mountain, in Luong Ngoc village, Cam Luong commune, Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa province, more than 80 km to the northwest of Thanh Hoa city.
Surrounded by limestone mountains, the stream is only over 100 meters long and 3-4 meters wide. There are tens of thousands of fish (weighing from 2 to 8 kg and the biggest ones are up to 30 kg) in strange shapes and all colors. When they swim, their bodies glow.
In the dry season, the stream is only 20-40 cm deep, the clear water is very clear and visitors can reach out to caress the fish. The density of fish is thick but the water does not smell. Local residents use the water for cooking, bathing and washing. This tourist attraction each year attracts thousands of visitors.
According to the belief of the Muong people, the fish in this stream have the divine origin. Over many generations, local people still mouth mysterious story of the origin of the fish.
Muong people in the Luong Ngoc call the fish as “doc” while scientists define the fish as a species of carp, with the scientific name of Spinibarbichthys denticulatus. This species is listed in the Red Book of Vietnam.

3- Visiting Ben En National Park is located in the two districts of Nhu Xuan and Nhu Thanh, 45km southwest of Thanh Hoa Province . It is not only the place preserving sources of rare and precious varieties of fauna and flora in service of scientific research but also an ideal tourist attraction.
Surrounded by hills and mountains, Ben En National Park has a total natural area of over 16,000ha plus 30,000ha of buffer zone forest and is affected by the tropical monsoon, creating an average annual temperature of about 230C.
The flora in the Park is plentiful with 462 varieties and 125 orders. The Park boasts a diverse fauna because it is a favourable living environment for many groups of insects, birds, rodents, animals with hooves, and carnivore. Many surveys and investigations show that the Park has 50 orders, 177 families, 216 varieties and over 1,000 species of animals, including 91 species of animals, 201 species of birds, 54 species of reptiles, 31 species of amphibians, 68 species of fish and 499 species of insects.
In recent years, with scientific research projects such as “Preserving the gene source of some rare and precious plants in Ben En National Park” and “Research on forest restoration after slash and burn farming in Ben En National Park”, the Park has attracted hundreds of domestic and foreign researchers and scientists.

Located in two communes Vinh Long and Vinh Tien of Vinh Loc District, Ho Dynasty Citadel is a unique stone architecture constructed by Vietnamese People. It is proud that Ho Dynasty Citadel was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site at the 35th meeting in Bahrain in June, 2011.
It is surprisingly said that Ho Dynasty Citadel had been built in only three months from January to March 1397. This citadel was used to be the capital of both Dai Viet nation during the final years of Tran Dynasty and Dai Ngu nation for seven years. It was officially named “Tay Do” (Western Capital) in order to distinguish from Thang Long – Dong Do Citadel (Eastern Capital). Ho Citadel is the only stone one in Vietnam which is constructed during a short period of time. It includes two layers: the inner called “Hoang Thanh” built with stone and the outer called “La Thanh” built with soil.
The outstanding feature of Ho Dynasty Citadel is that its stone walls were built to bear earthquakes with an average height of five meters. It is strange that the stones were laid without cement, each of them weighed up to 20 tonnes. Besides four gates covered Ho citadel, there was a canal surrounding the citadel as an extra layer of protection. Witnessing the ups and downs of over six-century history, some parts of the citadel are still kept its origins. Ho Dynasty Citadel is stated to be the symbol of power and military fortress. It was also built to represent both royalty and divine powers. It helped to link natural and human space. Especially, time and weather can not damage the major stone sections because of the citadel’s unique construction techniques
In the last days of June 2011, UNESCO recognized the citadel of Ho Dynasty as the World Cultural Heritage Sites. With an area of 17,662 ha, Pu Luong Nature Reserve is ideal place for developing main types of Vietnam tourism.
Pu Luong (alternatively called Phu Luong) is one of nature reserves located in Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc districts in north-western of Thanh Hoa Province. Pu Luong shares the boreder with Mai Chau, Tan Lac and Lac Son districts of Hoa Binh Province to the North-east. Covering total area of 17,662ha, Pu Luong Nature Reserve is ideal for developing main types of tourism such as trekking and mountain biking, etc.
The Nature Reserve is situated along two parallel mountain ridges running from the north-west to the south-west. In the middle of the nature reserve is a valley that separates it into two parts. This valley is the settlements of several local people and a large area of agricultural land.
Pu Luong is the habitat of plentiful of flora. It possesses the primary forest, which can be regarded as closed evergreen tropical seasonal forest. A diverse flora covers the forest with at least 1,109 vascular plant species. Besides, three primary forest subtypes found at the site also play an important role, including primary lowland forest on limestone and schist/shale, primary coniferous submontane forest on limestone and primary submontane forest on basalt.
Furthermore, Pu Luong is also the living environment of total of 84 mammal species, in which there are 24 bat species, 162 bird species, 55 fish species, 28 reptile species, 13 amphibian species, 158 species of butterfly and 96 species of land snail.
