Ben En National Park belongs to Nhu Xuan and Nhu Thanh districts, Thanh Hoa Province, 46km to the southwest of Thanh Hoa City. The national park is the concentration area of the endemic species of erythrophloeum fordid with age of hundreds years old.
Located in the transition area between Thanh Hoa – Nghe Tinh Plain and Truong Son Mountain Range, Ben En National Park with a total area of 15,000ha is the complex of mountains, forests, rivers, lakes.
Ben En National Park owns diversified and abundant flora and fauna systems with 1,417 plant species and 1,460 animal species, of which many rare species are listed in Viet Nam Red Book such as parashorea chinensis, madhuca pasquieri, lophura nycthemera, nomascus leucogienys leucogienys, bear, tiger, etc.
